FMGE2009- Screening Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates
An Indian citizen possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act:Provided that a person seeking permanent registration shall not have to qualify the screening test if he/she had already qualified the same before getting his/her provisional registration.
Eligibility
he/she is a citizen of India and possesses any primary medical qualification, either whose name and the institution awarding it are included in the World Directory of Medical Schools, published by the World Health Organisation; or which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned to be a recognised qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated;
he/she had obtained ‘Eligibility Certificate’ from the Medical Council of India as per the ‘Eligibility Requirement for taking admission in an undergraduate medical course in a Foreign Medical Institution Regulations, 2002’. This requirement shall not be necessary in respect of Indian citizens who have acquired the medical qualifications from foreign medical institutions or have obtained admission in foreign medical institution before 15th March, 2002.
The Next FMG Examination is Scheduled on 29th March, 2009 at New Delhi.

National Certification Exam for Energy Manager/ Energy Auditor (EM/ EA) May 2009
Under the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act, Bureau of Energy Efficiency has been established with effect from 1st March 2002. The Bureau is responsible for spearheading the improvement of energy efficiency of the economy through various regulatory and promotional instruments.
The essential qualification for a Certified Energy Manager and Certified Energy Auditor would be the passing of a National Level Certification Examination, which will be conducted under the aegis of Bureau of Energy Efficiency
The Examination is having papaers:
Paper-I: General Aspects of Energy Management & Energy Audit
Paper-II: Energy Efficiency in Thermal Utilities
Paper-III: Energy Efficiency in Electrical Utilities
Paper-IV: Energy Performance Assessment for Equipment and Utility Systems.
The candidate appearing for Energy Manager Examination has to pass all the above THREE papers, viz., Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III and obtain a minimum of 50% of the maximum marks in each paper.
The candidate appearing for Energy Auditor Examination has to pass all the above FOUR papers viz., Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III & Paper-IV and obtain a minimum of 50% of the maximum marks in each paper.
8th National Certification Examination for Energy Managers and Energy Auditors will be held on 16th & 17th May 2009 Saturday & Sunday

PRL Ph.D Program 2009- Physical Research Laboratory
PRL is an autonomous institution under the Department of Space and was established in 1947. The current areas of research at PRL are Astronomy and Astrophysics, Earth Sciences, Planetary Sciences & Exploration, Space and Atmospheric Sciences, Theoretical Physics, and Experimental Laser and Atomic Physics.
PRL have two campuses at Ahmedabad and astronomical and solar observatories at Mt. Abu and Udaipur respectively.
Research scholars are awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for the first two years, and subsequently a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) for the remaining years. A JRF receives a stipend of Rs. 12,000 per month and an SRF receives a stipend of Rs. 14,000 per month. A book grant of Rs. 5000 per year is given to all research scholars. Accommodation is provided by PRL at a nominal charge. A research scholar typically finishes his or her Ph.D. in five years.
