IIM Ranchi PGP in Management Admissions 2010-11

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi will launch its two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management from  the next Academic Session 2010–2011.  IIM Calcutta will mentor IIM Ranchi in its formative years.

The Admissions Office of IIM Calcutta will receive and process applications from eligible candidates who would like to apply to IIM Ranchi for its two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management commencing from the next academic session 2010-2011. Fees for the two-year programme will be Rs. 3 lakh per year.

St. Johns Bangalore MBBS Admissions 2010

St John’s Medical College, Banglaore invites applications for MBBS Admissions for the session starting 2010. The Admission will be based on an Entrance Examination to be held on 23.05.2010

Qualifying Examinations

A candidate seeking admission to first MBBS course:

a) Should have passed two-year Pre-university examination conducted by the Department of Pre-university Education, Karnataka State, with English as one of the subjects, and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually also.

b) Should have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate examination established by State Governments/Central Government, and recognized as equivalent to two-year Pre-university examination by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS)/Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects, and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually also.

c) Should have passed Intermediate examination in Science of an Indian university/Board/Council or other recognized examining bodies, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as compulsory subject. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually also.

d) Should have passed first year of the three-year degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is an �University examination�, and the candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in the Pre-university or other examinations mentioned in the clauses above.

e) Should have passed B.Sc. examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology), provided the candidate has passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in the qualifying examinations mentioned in clauses (a), (b) and (c).

Note: As per the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Circular No. RGUHS/AC2-ADM/Misc-2/2005-06 dated 20.10.2005, the 10+2 examination conducted by the CBSE Delhi, AHSEC Guwahati, Assam etc., the candidates who have opted for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects at the said examination and failed in any one subject is declared as PASS by the respective Boards. But, the university decides to admit candidates to various Health Science courses who have passed individually in optional/core subjects of the qualifying (10+2) examination and the results are declared pass.

Candidates who have passed �Physical Science� instead of Physics and Chemistry as two separate subjects are not eligible for admission to MBBS course as per Medical Council of India Regulations vide letter MCI-37(2)/2001/Med.922 dated 14.02.2001 and RGUHS letter UA/ELY-115/1998-2000 dated 22.05.2001.

How to Apply?

Applications for admission to MBBS will be issued from 3.3.2010. Cost of Application is Rs.1000/-. The Application fee is Rs.3000/-, for Indians who passed the Qualifying Examination abroad and NRIs.

CIFNET Cochin B.Sc. Fisheries Entrance 2010

Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical & Engineering Training (CIFNET), Kochi invites applications for admission to the Bachelor of Fisheries Science (Nautical Science) Programme for the session starting 2010.

The Programme is affiliated to the Cochin University of Science & Technology and is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping

Eligibility

Age:

Applicant should be of  minimum 17 years of age and maximum of 20 years of age as on 1.10.2010

Qualification:

10+2 with minimum 50% marks each  in English and  Mathematics and aggregate of 50% marks in other Science subjects. SC/ST applicants, need only a pass in the qualifying examination with these subjects

Applicant should be medically fit and should have eye sight an colour vision as per Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000

Selection will be based on the performance in the Entrance Test, Academic merit  and interview. Entrance Test will be held on 6th June 2010 at CIFNET Kochi. Interview will be on 19th July, 2010.

JIPMER MBBS Admissions 2010

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER), Pondichery (Puducherry) invites applications from Resident Indian Nationals for admission to MBBS Course for the Session 2010.

Total number of seats for July 2010 Session: 100 seats. Seat matrix for various categories is represented hereunder :-

•    Unreserved UR (22 seats), Other Backward Classes OBC(15 seats),

•    Scheduled Caste SC (11 seats), Scheduled Tribe ST (8 seats),

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

Essential: Applicant must be a resident Indian National. Applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years. Applicant should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31-12-2010.

Educational: Applicant should have passed Higher/ Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany/Zoology and a pass in English for Unreserved Category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC Category and a pass in English. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

*JIPMER uses paper-based test administration (MCQ) for merit listing the candidates for the above admissions.

Candidate has to appear for Entrance Examination to be conducted by JIPMER on 6th June 2010 (Sunday), 10 am to 12.30 pm

“Candidate can opt for one of the following centres for the Entrance Examination:-

Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Nagpur, New Delhi, Puducherry & Thiruvananthapuram.

APPLICATION:

Application-cum-Prospectus for MBBS course 2010 Session can be obtained by one of the following methods:

(i)    From the counter of State Bank of India (SBI), JIPMER Campus only from 25.02.2010 to 15.4.2010.(or)

(ii)   Postal request to Professor Academic, JIPMER from 25.02.2010 to 08.4.2010 accompanied by required Demand Draft. Two stickers with candidate’s address written legibly must also be enclosed for correct delivery of the Prospectus and Application Form (or)

(iii)  On-Line Submission through JIPMER website www.jipmer.edu from 25.02.2010 to 08.4.2010. Completed On-line Applications with required Demand draft must reach Professor Academic, JIPMER on or before 15.4.2010.

PAYMENT PROCESS:

Prospectus and Application Form are available on cash payment of Rs.850/- (for Categories UR/OBC/P-UR/ P-OBC) Rs.500/- (for categories SC/ST/P-SC) only at STATE BANK OF INDIA, JIPMER CAMPUS Branch.

Applicants wanting to obtain the Prospectus and Pre­printed Form by post will have to send a MICR Demand draft drawn in favour of “ACCOUNTS OFFICER, JIPMER” payable at Puducherry (Pondicherry) Union Territory for the above prescribed amount. No other mode of payment is permitted.

Amrita University Medical Entrance Exam 2010 for MBBS BDS Admissions

Amrita University announces admissions for the following Undergraduate Medical Programmes offered at Amrita School of Medicine

MBBS – 100 Seats

BDS – 60 Seats

Eligibility

  1. Minimum 17 years of age and maximum 23 years on or before 31st December 2010.
  2. Pass in 12th standard in the first attempt and with a minimum of marks 60% in English and 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent. NRI’s and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who qualify from foreign universities will have to produce an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
  3. Those who appear for the qualifying examination in March / April 2010 can also apply.

SELECTION

Selection is based on the rank obtained in the All India entrance test conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The Entrance Exam will be conduted on May 22, 2010

Amrita University Engineering Entrance Exam 2010 for B.Tech.

Amrita University offers B.Tech. programmes in eight branches at the three Schools of Engineering located at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore. The University has been conducting its engineering entrance examination every year in various cities across the country. Amrita University invites applications for M.Tech program in Nanomedical Sciences. The interdisciplinary program provides expertise in nanomaterial and nanomaterials processing, bio-nanotechnology and nano-medical sciences
