CBSE Improvement marks is less than original, which will be considrered ?

Hello

I wrote CBSE exams last year and got only 84% marks. I felt that is too low to write major entrance examinations, and decided to improve this year. If I am getting lower marks in the improvement examination will it affect my original marks ? which one will be considered ? marks in the CBSE improvement exam or higher marks of the two exams ?
