What to do?
• The Factual Passage, has eight very short answer type questions which requires thorough understanding of the passage and carry one mark each. They generally, have to be answered in one word, phrase or sentence.
• The Discursive Passage, four short answer type questions will be asked to test inference, evaluation and analysis skill of the student. These questions carry two marks each and should be answered using one’s own language and not be simply copied from the text. Answers should not be of more than 2-3 sentences.
Discursive passages also include 4 MCQ’s to test vocabulary. The answer has to be selected from the four given options with utmost care and using reasoning with utmost care.
How to score maximum marks in Comprehension passages?
Scoring maximum marks in comprehension passages is a skill which can be mastered by
constant practice. Before answering the question, a student must read the passage carefully and then try to find the answer from the passage itself by focusing mainly on what is required in the answer.
Answers must be written in one’s own language and not copied from the text.
