Need right advice: Help me out
#1
Hi,

I'm Subesh ( name changed), a reporter based out of India.

I' d would like to become a lecturer, but not sure whether to give UGC JRF. Also I' d like to persue PHD some day. To be frank, throughout my schooling, graduation and post graduation, I'v been an average performer.

10th- 53%

12%- 59.8%

Graduation- 64.5%

MA- 6.3 grade

Unfortunately, I had a bad time doing my graduation. I completed my graduation in 2010 from a top ranked public university. It took me 4 year to complete my BBA, instead of 3 year. Only one paper had to be given in 2010. From the beginning, I was not at all interested in management field. I thought of doing free lance work for a media firm ( August 2009- March 2010). Starting April 2010, I got a job in a startup media company, as an excecutive. Life changed, I was doing really well. However, I wanted to study further, so I took an admission in India's top ranked public university. Since then, I'm doing really well in my career. I scored a respectable 6.3 grade in my MA Mass communication. During my MA Mass communication, I was working with both Indian as well as International publications, as a free lance writer. Its been more than a year working a reputed media house. Yes, I'm happy with my job. But now, I'm thinking to do PHD in mass communication. I'll surely give JRF NET later this year. I know my academic record is not worthy enough; still I'd like to become a lecturer one day.

You can be a lecturer but it will be good if you give UGC JRF otherwise your lectureship will be on temporary basis. UGC will give you other benefits also like your PHD term period will be shortened.

Hi to all.

I think for clearing NET you need extensive practice, after clearing NET you can go for a pHD program, some of the reputed college are:
Sharda University
LPU
Amity
