I am planning to do Research in Criminology. came to know about a fellowship being offered by BPRD (Bureau of Police Research & Development). please give the information

Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPRD), Government of India Ministry of Home Affairs, invites applications for the Award of Twelve Fellowships for Doctoral work in Criminology and Police Science for three years payable through the institution where the fellow shall be registered for Ph.D course work.

Eligibility:

Master’s Degree not less than 55% marks for General Category and 50% for Reserve Category (SC/ST/OBC) in Criminology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology. Social Anthropology, Public Administration, Political Science, Law and Police Administration. Preference shall be given to the NET/SET qualified candidates.

The candidate should be registered for Ph.D programme with any of the recognized Indian university in Criminology/ Police Science.

The fellowship is open to Indian nationals upto 28 years of age (General Category) and 33 years (Reserve Category) (SC/ST/OBC) as on the date of publication of Advertisement. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing LL.M degree. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

Applicants are required to send self-addressed unstamped envelope (28cms x 12cms) attached with the application.

Closing date for receipt of applications will be 60 days from the date of publication of advertisement. (Approximately by 15.02.2015).
