The UPSC IES ESE Engineering Service exam ofÂ
Civil Engineering, Â
Mechanical  Engineering, Â
Electrical  Engineering  and Â
Electronics  and  Telecommunications  EngineeringÂ
written  examination  will  comprise  two  sections—
Section  I  consisting  only  of  objective  type  of  questions  andÂ
Section  II  of  conventional  papers. Â
Both  Sections  will  cover  the  entire  syllabus  of  the  relevant  engineering  disciplines  Â
Section I Objective  Papers will contain
Part B : General Studies
Civil Engineering, Â
Mechanical  Engineering, Â
Electrical  Engineering  and Â
Electronics  and  Telecommunications  EngineeringÂ
written  examination  will  comprise  two  sections—

- Relevant Engineering stream MCQ Paper II -Â Â 2 hrs. Â 200 MarksÂ
- Relevant Engineering stream Subjective Paper I - 3 hrs- 200 marks
- Relevant Engineering stream Subjective Paper II - 3 hrs- 200 marks
