The number of credits for the MA/M.Sc. course is 64. Evaluation is done on the basis of continuous internal assessment for each course. The division of marks for internal and semester end examinations are 40 per cent and 60 per cent respectively.
The compulsory courses cover the areas of contemporary strategy, international relations, national security, geopolitics and military geography, defense economics and science and technology and its impact on security. Students have the option of preparing a dissertation as an area studies course.
