What is the duration for Nursing programme?

Most of the large teaching hospitals run four-year B.Sc courses in nursing, while the nursing diploma course lasts for 3.5 years. Private hospitals and medical institutions offer diploma courses ranging from two to three years, but many of these are not recognised by the Nursing Council. Some institutes also offer shorter courses (one year to 18 months) for nursing aides and auxiliary nurses, but professional growth on this path may be very slow. The ANM course is for a period of 18 months.
