According to our experts DU cutoffs are expected to increase by 1 to 1.5% this year. Firstly, as this year the number of students securing more than 95% marks in Class XII (CBSE Board) has gone up by 65%. Secondly, as the university has recently ruled out its ‘First-come-first served’ policy for granting admission to the students. The colleges will now have to admit all the students whose marks meet the announced cutoff criteria. Therefore, Colleges are expected to play safe and opt for higher cut offs in the initial 2-3 cut off lists.

This year, colleges will be issuing 6 separate cutoff lists each for different groups —
• General Category
• Other Backward Classes (OBC)
• Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST)
• Persons with Physical Disability (PWD) Category {Three groups}
For the last two categories, Colleges will be issuing cutoffs for the first time.
