What do you understand by job satisfaction?

Job satisfaction refers to an employee's general attitude toward his job. According to Locke "job satisfaction is a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one's job or job experiences". To the extent that a person's job fulfills his dominant need and is consistent with his expectations and values, the job will be satisfying.
