(1) There has been a change in managerial philosophy and management feels that employee's participation in the activities of an organisation has a tremendous influence on the working of the organisation.
(2) The role of the government has now changed. The Government now intervenes more extensively to control manpower management to protect the interests of the employees.
(3) The role of trade unions has increased and they also question managerial competence in question.
(4) Rising wages, changes in technical skills of workers, industrial disputes—these factors have influenced and encouraged the trend in favour of a personnel audit.
