Hi all,
Please explain me the need for the UGC NET Exam, JRF, SET and SLET exams.
I know all these are for Lecturership. But i dnt knw the difference for all these.
Please clarify me.

UGC NET JRF is For Junior Research Fellowship.Age limit for women is 35yrs,National Eligibility Test (NET).
SET is State level Exam ie State Level Eligibility Test (SLET or SET)
States conducting SLET
Presently, SET/SLET is being conducted in the following states:
* Maharashtra
* Goa
* Tamil Nadu (under consideration as of 14-07-2005)
* Madhya Pradesh
* Andhra Pradesh
* Himachal Pradesh
* Jammu & Kashmir
* Rajasthan
* Uttar Pradesh
* West Bengal
* Gujarat
* NE-SLET (Which includes all North Eastern states and Sikkim)
* Karnataka(Under consideration as of 14-07-2005

I am also planning for the higher studies i got useful information about what course i should plan for higher studies from this forum .
