I wish to become a geologist. What eligibility is required?

Anyone wishing to enter this profession needs a degree in geology. Entrance to the five year integrated course offered by Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) is through the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), which is conducted every year. Since competition is intense, preparation should start along with the Class-12 examination.
To get admission in the IITs postgraduate level programs in geology, students have to sit for the Joint Admission Test (JAM) for M.Sc. Only students who have graduated in geology along with some other science subjects are accepted in the program.
