To become a commercial pilot in India, one must clear three steps:
• Student Pilot License (SPL)
• Private Pilot License (PPL)
• Commercial Pilot License.

Step One- Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
Eligibility: 10+2 with science and aged at least 16 years.
Admission
Eligible candidate should register at a flying club recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. Registration requires a medical certificate, security clearance and a bank guarantee.
Selection procedure
Candidates taking the SPL test have to appear in an oral examination on a fixed day every month. Candidates go through a medical test at Air Force Central Medical Establishment
(AFCME). Subrcto Park. New Delhi and Institute of Aviation Medicine(IAM), Vimanpura, Bangalore, which are the firaj authorities for medical fitness. After clearing the medical ter the candidate is required to pass the Pilot Aptitude Test.
Pilot Aptitude Test
The Akademi offers opportunity to ascertain ones aptitude for flying through the Pilot Aptitude Test. The assessment report is issued immediately after thd test. I

Step Two - Private Pilot License (PPL) Eligibility
Plus Two (at least 50% marks in physics and mathematics and a medical fitness certificate from AFCME OR 1AM. T-al age requirement is 17 years.
Admission
An entrance test for a Private Pilot License course is taken on subjects like English, General Knowledge, Mathematics Physics and Chemistry. Applications for this test have d be sent to the Director General of Civil Aviation, Safdarja Airport, New Delhi 110003 in the month of April.
Training
After getting the SPL, the candidate, accompanied by the fly instructor, proceeds for initial flying training. This is a dual flight, where the instructor or trainer accompanies the learrr to teach him the practical aspect of flying. Then the candidate gets his first independent flight normally after about 15 hoi/: of dual flying. This includes cross country flying. A total of£ hours of flying is needed of which 20 hours minimum she be solo and 5 hours cross country.
Besides flying training, the candidate has to clear a theory examination. The subjects are: Air regulations aviation meteorology, air navigation, aircraft engines, a": seamanship.

Step Three - Commercial Pilots License (CPL)
A student can get the CPL by doing his flying training for 191 hours to complete 250 hours of flying.
Eligibility
Plus Two (at least 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics PPL, and medical fitness certificate from AFCME OR 1AM. Tr r age requirement is 18 Years
Training
To obtain a Commercial Pilots License (CPL) 250 hours flying (including 60 hours for the PPL) is necessary. Beside; that a candidate must undergo a Medical Fitness Test 31 New Delhi and a written examination which consists of a regulations, aviation meteorology, air navigation, technical planning, and communications in the form of radio & wireless, transmission.
