Following are the eligibility expected for Fulbright-Nehru Masters Fellowships for Leadership Development 2012:
be a responsible Indian citizen who can contribute to a full and fair picture of the culture and civilization of India, and thereby help to promote understanding and friendship between the peoples of the United States of America and India;
have a high level of academic/professional achievement;
demonstrate proficiency in the English language to undertake the proposed project/program and adjust to life in the US The applicant may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL);
be present in India at the time of submitting the application and interview, if required. If you will be abroad, please keep us informed.
be eligible for leave, if employed;
be in good health;
not be residing in the United States;
not be applying for or holding permanent residence (green card) in the United States;
not have been in the US during the past three years on a teaching, research, study or professional assignment for a continuous period of three months or more, at the time of submitting the application. In addition, you should not be in the US for a period of three months or more on a teaching, research or professional assignment during the application cycle (July 2012 to June 2013); and
should give an undertaking to return to India on the completion of the fellowship.
Applicants have completed an equivalent of a US bachelor's degree from a recognized Indian university with at least 55% marks. Applicants should either possess a four-year bachelor's degree or a completed master's degree, if the bachelor's degree is of less than four years' duration;
Applicants have at least three years' full time (paid or voluntary) professional or work experience relevant to their proposed field of study;
Applicants must demonstrate experience in leadership and community service;
Applicants should not have another degree from a US university or be enrolled in a US degree program; and
Applicants preferably be in the age group of 25-30 years.
Is 3-year professional experience a strict criterion or can it be slightly flexible ?
If someone has 4-years BE degree in Computer Science (RVCE),
2 years PGDM from IIM and
1 year experience in Domestic Capital markets by next year Apr 13 , will he/she be eligible for July- 2013 application?
