SET or UGC-NET? Difference?

Hi All,
We all know that NET is National Eligibility Test and SET is for State Level Elegibility Test.

Syllabus and Pattern of Question paper is same for both. But if you think about the quality standards of the question paper also would be the same, then you would surely be fooled by the universities who conduct them.

Recently Bharathiar University in Tamilnadu conducted SET for TN students.

According to the standard of the question paper while compared with NET we can visualize as

1. NET - 10 (in 0 to 10 point scale)
2. SET - 01 (in 0 to 10 point scale)

For NET, even we study it would be very hard to attend all questions (irrespective of whether we pass or not)
For this SET (by Bharathiar university), even if u didn't study anything, you can attend almost all questions (donno about their standards interms of valuation)

Such things, completely defeats the objective of NET examinations. If every state starts like that, there would be no any need to have NET (common exams across the country).

UGC, itself is playing lot of cunning games towards it. After the decision they have made about a common and mandatory exams, at country level at uniform syllabus and standards, then why do the allow loop holes/back door entries like

excempting people who do Ph.D (after Jul.2009 -UGC's revised rules and regulations), and allowing SET kind of useless and standardless examinations?

However tough NET is, one thing is for sure. People who are willing to do hard work and effort have a surest way to get qualified for this job, based on this examination.

But these exemptions, surely ruins their hopes as well as the objectives UGC for selecting quality candidates through NET.
