TV BROADCASTING SYSTEMS

The world operates with two major video systems, NTSC and PAL.

NTSC is The first colour TV broadcast system was implemented in the United States in 1953. This was based on the NTSC - National Television System Committee standard. NTSC is used by many countries on the American continent as well as many Asian countries including Japan. NTSC runs on 525 lines/frame. NTSC is the official analog video standard in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, some parts of Central and South America, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea.

PAL or Phase Alternating Line is the dominant format in the World for analog television broadcasting and video display. It and is based on a 625 line, 50 field/25 frames a second, 50HZ system. The PAL standard utilises a wider channel bandwidth than NTSC which allows for better picture quality. PAL runs on 625 lines/frame. Countries on the PAL system include the U.K., Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, China, INDIA, most of Africa, and the Middle East.

SECAM - Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential Colour with Memory standard was introduced in the early 1960's and implemented in France. SECAM uses the same bandwidth as PAL but transmits the colour information sequentially.
SECAM runs on 625 lines/frame.

hi.. today's topic is on CORRELATION (for Research Aptitude section of paper 1)

Correlation is a single number that describes the degree of relationship between two variables.

In a negative correlation, as the values of one of the variables increase, the values of the second variable decrease. Likewise, as the value of one of the variables decreases, the value of the other variable increases. E.g correlation between TV viewing and students who spend more time watching getting lower grades

In positive correlation, both variables increase or decrease together. Direct association between two variables. As one variable becomes large, the other also becomes large, and vice versa. Positive correlation is represented by Correlation Coefficients greater than 0. Like correlation between income and education. People with higher income have higher education usually.

Constant correlation means variables are consistently connected, and no correlation means variables are have no connection between them.
