Suggest a computer for PhD

Hello everybody,

I will be doing my PhD in bioinformatics soon and wanted your suggestions on a purchase of a good laptop, I have shortlisted the following

1 Dell XPS
2 Apple Macbook
3 HP 6000 Series and
4 Sony Vaio

Which can I go for? I personally like the macbook cos of the finish and performance and mac OS moreover the student discount they are offering is almost saving me 10k ... as such, keep me posted thanks
