Leadership is closely related to human relations and consequently to motivation. Leadership is the essence of motivation. Effective leadership is the only method of promoting good human relations. Leadership integrates the efforts and motivates the followers to work effectively and efficiently. Management has to motivate the rank and file in the organisation so that their efforts may be effectively canalised in a manner in which maximum utilisation of their skill, knowledge and experience is possible and good leadership alone can influences the will in the people to secure best contribution of human resources. Leadership acts as the main source of motivation. It guides the followers to develop their inherent qualities. A group without leadership fails to achieve its objectives. A dynamic leadership makes the followers loyal to the organisation so (hat they may work hard towards the accomplishment of organisational goals. Infact, the management is an art of getting the work done by the people and it is the leadership that develops the art. Thus leadership is the main source of motivation. It is the leadership that guides, inspires and directs group members for a achieving a unity of purpose and efforts.
