Industrial dispute is defined by Section 2(K) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 as follows:
Industrial dispute is "Any dispute or difference between the employers and employees or between employees and workmen, 6r between workmen and workmen, which is connected with the employment or unemployment or the terms of employment or with the conditions of labour of any person."
There must be following essentials of an industrial dispute:
(i) There must be relationship of employer and employee;
(ii) The worker must be on the roll list of the industry
(iii)The demands of the workers must have been rejected by the employer.
(iv)The dispute may be between two employers or between two employees..
(v) The dispute may be connected with employment or non-employment or terms of employment or with labour conditions of any person;
(vi) The industrial unit must be a growing concern, it must not be dead.
