The course is taught at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of the University’s Faculty of Engineering which is one of the biggest and the best engineering faculties in the UK. The course provides a unique blend of biochemical engineering and business management to prepare the students for a career in the bio-pharmaceutical or industrial biotechnology sectors. It is a highly innovative programme and combines theoretical aspects of the discipline with hands on practicalÂ
experience. Students are provided with complete access to facilities for sustainable energy processes, safety and risk engineering, carbon capture and utilisation, and biological processes and biomanufacturing.Â
Course Duration: 1 YearÂ
Career Prospects for Course Graduates: The graduates will have excellent prospects within the pharmaceutical, medical diagnostics, industrial enzyme and bio-fuel industries. They can also undertake a PhD in biological engineering or the biosciences.
Eligibility Criteria: Interested applicants should have an honors degree in science, technology or engineering. Candidates with wide work experience will also be deemed qualified. Students must also have IELTS with an average of 6.5 or above and at least 5.5 in each component.Â

Scholarships: Merit-based scholarships - Academic Achievement Scholarships 2016/17 worth £4000 toÂ
£8000 and Overseas Excellence Scholarship 2016/17 worth £8000; India Merit Postgraduate ScholarshipsÂ
2016/17 worth 50% of the Postgraduate yearly tuition fee per year which will take the form of tuition fee reduction of the student
