I am planning to do a six month diploma course in UK. How can I arrange for a stay there?

If you are going to UK for the first time, you may prefer to use university accommodation. It is easier to organise before you arrive, and it can provide a good base from which to get to know the university and other students. There are two types of university accommodation — halls of residence and self-catering halls.

If you would prefer to live in a private housing, you will probably need to find this yourself, although the university accommodation office will offer suggestions. University accommodation has to be arranged before you come to the UK. Most universities with their own accommodation give priority to new students and to students from overseas but you will still need to apply for a place well in advance. Information on university accommodation and how to apply for it or can be found in the prospectuses.
