After completing Aircraft maintenance engineering course and passing the internal exam, you have to clear the licensing exam conducted by the DGCA. On completion of training you will get a Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Certificate (BAMEC) from the DGCA which will make you eligible for a job in the aviation industry.
Remuneration in this field is very attractive. In Indian Airlines, Air India, and other private airlines, engineers get a starting gross salary of about 25,000 to 40,000 pm which goes up to 1.20 lakh, whereas the total training cost is only around 1.25 lakh.

This field has got good scope..but mostly it depends from where you have completed your engineering...if you have done you B.E from the top college like IIT roorkee, or IIT bombay, then you may get a good placement. The salary could be anywhere between 20000 to 40000 per month. but there are some fraud colleges across the length and breadth of the country "BE AWARE OF THEM"...they charge huge fees and have zero placement.

Students of AME course can also appear and qualify as AMAeSI (Associate Membership of Aeronautical Society of India), which is considered equivalent to B.E. or B.Tech programme in Aeronautical Engineering by Government of India. They can find jobs as engineers at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), Air India, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), BHEL, DRDO, Indian Air Force (IAF), Coast Guard and Airline Industries.

Candidates, who qualify as AMAeSI, are also eligible for M.Tech Admission in IITs through GATE, at Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, as well as at Madras Institute of Technology.

Don’t do Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. There is not such scope in this field. Because if want to be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you can enter in it many ways like by doing mechanical diploma, mechanical engineering or simple graduation, in any case you don’t get the job you have many option as you have degree or diploma. It is not even a diploma course. It is only wasting of time or money.

The chances of getting a job as an aircraft maintenance engineer are average due to steady numbers of workers, and low staff turnover.
