As there will be class held on the basis of French, it is better that you learn it. For learning French one has to take the following route:
Certificate in Practical French Language (or 1 st grade). This assumes that the student has acquired considerable basic knowledge of the French language and culture. It includes a general and a commercial option.
Diploma in French Studies (or 2nd grade) includes 6 options (literature, history of art, economy, demography, geography, history of political institutions.) It constitutes an initiation to the techniques and methods of higher education.
Advanced Diploma in French Studies (or 3rd grade) assumes that the candidate has acquired the techniques and working methods expected of a French student (precis, essay composition, translation and explanation of a text). It includes a "practical teaching" option.

iN fRANCE , Many people dont even know english,But i dont think so that the classes will be held in the Language other than english. Pleasee in quire about this before Going to france and if yes than you must learn french, But as French being an ocean of words and pronounciation it is better that you opt for a university which teaches in the language you know. Also learning a foreign language is always a help
