Kerala TET and SET low pass percentage. The facts
#1
The mass failures in KTET and Kerala SET examinations raises some questions about the quality of teacher education in Kerala. The low pass percentage in Kerala TET and SET examinations are not a good sign, and it ensures the fact that teaching is not a preferred career option for candidates with good academic score, and the increasing number of private self payment teaching institutions are resulting in the overall academic degradation. The SET examination conducted by LBS always results in low number of pass outs, and the candidates always says LBS is using SET examination as an option for money spinning by detaining the candidates and making them apply for the exam again and again.

The current pass out percentage of KTET examination makes these allegations null and void. KTET was conducted by Kerala Pareekshabhavan which is a government body and only 8000 candidates passed out of the 150,000 applicants. KTET is a must for unaided schools also, so Kerala is moving towards shortage of enough number of teachers.

So the question is about the standard of the teachers coming out of the so called training institutes. There should be a check on these Self Financing institutes about the quality of the institutes.. that should be the least favour we need to do to our children.
