To join Indian Armed Forces(Army, Navy, Air Force) as an officer you need to clear Services Selection Board  (SSB). This is the gateway for an youngster to enter the prestigious services.
Indian Navy offers a vast career opportunity for bright youngsters like you. Entires are there in different branches of Indina Navy and you can choose between them and opt for the branch which will best suit your educational background.
Branches like Executive Branch, Engineering Branch, Electrical Branch, Naval Construction Wing and Education Branch may best suit your qualification.
For applying as an Officer in Indian Navy you need to have basic educational qualifications and physical satandards. Like,
10+2 60% inEnglish and PCM
Professional degree
minimum height of 158CM and should optimal eye sight (Which varies with the branch selection).
Let me brief you shortly on various branches I have mentioned above
Executive branch in which you will be at the helm of warships, submarines and aircrafts. Officers of only from executive branch can later specialise in the following: Gunnery, Anti-Submarine warfare, Communications and Electronic Warfare, Pilot, Observer, Submarines, Marine Commandos, Hydrography, Diving...
Engineering branch in which you will be looking after the main and auxiliary propulsion systems of warships, submarines and aircrafts of navy. Engineering officers are vertically trained in marine propulsion systems and often appointed in naval dockyards where the upkeep and maintenance of naval ships are handled. Naval Construction branch is a sub branch to the engineering branch which looks after the design and construction of Warships and submarines. With Indian Navy going into the indigenous production of more and more sophisticated and technologically supreme warships and its weapons and sensors Naval Construction wing is also an essential part of the Navy.
Education Branch plays a major role in training the Officers and men of Indian Navy to thrive for excellence. In Navy there is a saying, "The more u sweat during training will make u less bleed during war". This can be only ache by having topclass instructors to train the naval men. Education branch officers are trained in all facets of naval warfare and technology so as to inculcate that in their men.
Electrical branch A warship/ submarine is fitted with its own power generation and distribution system. As an electrical officer of the ship you have the responsibility of upkeep and maintenance of all electrical, electronics and weapons equipment of the Navy. Their job onboard ships and submarines is good as supplying and maintaining power to mini township.
For preparing to join Indian Navy or any of our armed forces you need to keep yourself abreast with the current events. My suggestions are to read newspapers daily and additionally if you can then keep reading Competitive Success Review/ Master. These are good magazines. It helped me a lot during my SSB time. Very importantly you need to work on your personality. As an officer in Indian Navy you are considered the finest men in India, to gain that you need to work on your qualities. Generic qualities like bravery, honesty, sincerity, chivalry, basic knowledge about the surroundings are some. I need not to say that you have to be physically fit to undergo your training if your are recommended by the board for that you must do exercises (Ground exercises basically) like 2.5 KM running, push-ups, sit-ups, swimming etc..
