IBPS Clerk Language problem.

My residing state language is Kannada. But I cant read or write Kannada. Will it be a problem in applying for IBPS clerk ?

You need not worry about your residing state language. Please apply in a state where you are proficient with the official language. IBPS clerk notifications says "Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable. "
