I am a 3rd year engineering student interested in Civil Services. I would like to ask whether a final year engineering student is eligible to apply for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination (IAS/IFS etc)? How much is the reservation for a PH Person?

A final year engineering student is eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Service Examination and eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination. If you are declared qualified by the Commission for taking the Civil Services (Main) Examination you will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite examination (any recognized university's degree or equivalent) with your application for Main Examination failing which you will not be admitted to the Main Examination. So while you are in final BE, you can apply for Civil Services Preliminary Examination with regard to reservation for physically disabled persons, it will be made as fixed by Government (say 3%) and certain Services will be identified suitable for physically disabled category and age relaxation of up to maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mutes and orthopaedically handicapped persons is permitted by the UPSC.
