One can pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) course, which provides a sound grounding in creative arts, and follow it up with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program. NID offers a graduate diploma program and postgraduate diploma program in design with graphic designing as the specialization. There are several short-term diplomas and certificate courses in graphic designing to choose from as well.

Apart from doing the necessary courses in this field, as specified below, you should also be familiar with commonly used graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. Coral Draw and PageMaker, as knowledge of these are basic requirements of this profession. Most graphic designers also use a variety of very complex computer programs in their day-to-day work. The graphic design artist, hence, may choose to use a variety of programs when developing his or her design.
