A quick introduction about PUC:

Students who complete the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) / 10th are eligible to take up the Pre-University Course (PUC) as their higher secondary education. It is a two-year duration course in the state of Karnataka which is commonly known as the Plus-two or Intermediate course.  A 10 + 2 pattern of education is followed by the state wherein the first year of PUC is termed as 1st PUC and the second year as 2nd PUC. More than 10 lakh students enrols for the PUC examinations every year. Department of Pre-University Education (PUE) is responsible for conducting 1st PUC Annual Examination and is held in the month of March annually. The duration of the PUC examinations are 3 hours and the main streams are Language, Commerce and Science.
