Field of study: Byzantine studies in Byzantine Civilization in all its aspects, including relations with neighbouring cultures; Pre-Columbian studies; History of landscape architecture Fellowships;
Duration: Full academic year
Value: As per rank or seniority, up to $18,000 besides furnished accommodation and allowances for dependent spouse and/or children accompanying fellow, and also a research expense account.
Junior Fellowships
Duration: Full academic year
Value: Up to $14,000.
Summer Fellowships
Duration: Six to nine weeks
Value: $ 150 per week and housing facility.
Bliss Prize Fellowships
Duration: Two academic years.
Value: Up to $28,000 per year and travel during summer in addition to graduate school tuition.
Eligibility: Qualified students (of any nationality) of History, Archaeology, History of Art. Philology, Theology and other disciplines.
(a) with Ph.D. or equivalent, who wish to pursue research in the fields mentioned;
(b) who wish to write their doctoral dissertation on a subject in the fields mentioned;
(c) scholars on any level of advancement in the fields mentioned;
(d) candidates in last year of undergraduate education or having a B.A. and having completed at least one year of Greek by the end of the senior year
Note: Normally restricted to candidates enrolled in United States or Canadian universities or colleges; must be applicants to graduate school in any field or area of Byzantine Studies.
Last date: 1st November of the academic year preceding year of study.
