INDIAN COUNCIL OF HISTORICAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Fields of study :History of Art, Literature, Philosophy, Science and Technology, Epigraphy, Archaeology, Socio-economic formations and allied subjects.
The Programme :2-3 years Research Fellowships to historians for Doctoral, Post-Doctoral Research Studies With a view to encouraging research (in India and outside the country) in certain significant but hitherto less explored aspects of history. Fellowship may also be awarded to Indian historians to collect material and date from other countries.
Eligibility: These fellowships are extended to historians in universities, colleges and other institutions who have established their reputation for research. Fellowships are normally offered to those who are already based in an academic institute. M.Phil/Ph.D students are eligible for Junior Fellowships. M.Phil, students are eligible for grant of fellowship for a period of one year, they can apply to the Council after completing six months of the registration.
Value : Rs. 1000-3000 pm (contingency grant Rs. 3000-5000 pa).
Application : form is printed in the notification. Eligible persons should apply through proper channel in the prescribed form, submitting five copies of detailed note/synopsis on research proposal and bio-date. Completed applications should reach the Indian Council of Historical Research by the prescribed date.
