Calicut University has a rich history and has played an important role in the educational development of the northern part of Kerala. But all this is a history now. The pro-marxist syndicate spoils all this by appointing teachers and professors based on their political stand, regardless of academical and professional qualifications.

The renowned malayalam writer and University professor M.N Karassery rightly said, Calicut University is now functioning neither for students nor for teachers, but only for the employees of the varsity.
