In the four-year undergraduate program, the first year basically makes students aware of theories concepts and processes, and builds a foundation that synergises design, management and technology for fashion industry.
In the second year, basic skills are imparted to make students understand fabric properties manufacturing processes and machinery, statistical tools, software related to apparel industry production planning and construction of garments.
The third year prepares students to comprehensively understand processing techniques, supply chain and IT applications, management of trade, and develop skills in production planning and control as well as constructing specialized garments.
In the final year, students get equipped to handle decision-making oriented subjects with opportunity to choose from a wide range of elective inputs, including advanced Java, e-commerce project management, ergonomics, etc. The departmental and common elective subjects provide students with an opportunity to further explore their areas of interest, and help them appreciate interdisciplinary challenges. The students go for internships at different intervals, and the programme ends with an in-depth research project undertaken in various areas.
